Invoke PR & Events plays hostess with the mostess after a whirlwind of events
It has been a busy few months here at Invoke PR & Events HQ, which saw us working on a number of high profile events including the launch of SOBO – Dublin’s latest up and coming district, the star studded IFTA Awards and the Switcher.ie broadband awards. The mansion house played host to this year’s IFTA (Irish Film Awards). The Gods’ were on our side as the sun came out just in time for the only outdoor red carpet event of the year. After a successful red carpet walk and a flurry of media and cameras, the VIPS were escorted to enjoy a pre- dinner champagne reception in the Lord Mayors quarters before being invited into the round room for the televised show. The round room itself had undergone a total transformation with paired back lighting and a customised colour scheme for the evening. Host Deirdre O’Kane provided much laughter throughout the show. The after party kicked off at 11pm bringing a new atmosphere to the room with DJ MO. Other guests on the night included our much loved Amy Huberman and funny man Chris O’Dowd. We sadly had to play Cinderella on the night, but our photobomb by the great Liam Neeson was the highlight of the day!
The hotly-anticipated SOBO District was unveiled this month, comprising two striking new office buildings with the iconic addresses of 1 Windmill Lane and 1 Sir John Rogerson’s Quay-in the heart of Dublin’s digital and fintech revolution. The observatory building was transformed and featured a pop up heated outdoor terrace area and bar offering bespoke SOBO cocktails. Inside, guests were encouraged to envisage the new office buildings with revolving screens which captured the design and detailing of the new builds. Invoke PR & Events called in the experts in the form of the Samsung techie crew to demonstrate the new Samsung VR. The virtual reality concept brought us on a 360 tour of the Liffey and the surrounding SOBO site. With the area already home to company offices such as BNY Mellon and RIOT games, the pulse of the city is set to discover a new destination.
Now in its third year, the Switcher.ie awards which celebrates the best products and services amongst the broadband industry was held at The Marker hotel. Over 120 guests were seated for the event which saw Sky take home the “Best Broadband Award”. Host Laura Woods entertained the crowd who were waiting in anticipation for the winners to be announced. The room was lit up in the Switcher branded colours with monogrammed balloon throughout. Ray Shah kept the party going into the wee hours while illusionist Brian Daly entertained with his mix of comedy and magic. We are looking forward to next year already!
