Why not take a break from the busy streets this St Patrick’s Day and bring the family to the Powerscourt Town Centre? If your feet are tired and your throat dry, the many restaurants and cafe in the Centre offer the best place to relax and enjoy the day. The kids will be kept amused with face painters and St Patrick’s characters. The St Patrick’s Day theme continues with traditional musicians McSweeney on stage from 1.30pm.

The Powerscourt Town Centre on South William Street is celebrating Mother’s Day this year in true style! Treat your mother to a fabulous day of music, dining out and shopping in the beautifully renovated Georgian townhouse, just off Grafton Street.
In advance of their forthcoming season, Opera Ireland will be on stage on both Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th of March at 2.30pm.
The afternoon opera recitals will feature some of Ireland’s best young operatic talent. The world class performers will be singing a selection of arias from some of the world’s favourite operas, the sounds filling the Centre and setting the scene for a sophisticated Mother’s Day.
Boasting over 40 shops including fashion, food, antiques, jewellery, art and much more in an idyllic setting, the Powerscourt Townhouse Centre is the perfect place for everything you need this Mother’s Day! Why not treat your mother to a new outfit from the Design Centre or a beautiful piece of jewellery from ESL Jewellers?
If your mother or grandmother is a craft expert, a gift from A Rubenesque or This is Knit is sure to make her day. For the art or antique collector, an afternoon spent perusing the art in the Powerscourt Gallery and Giles Norman Photography or searching through the stock at Courtville Antiques or the Silver Shop is sure to product fruitful results.
Pygmalion Bar and Restaurant on thethe ground floor of the Centre are offering a special Mother’s Day menu, featuring a delicious selections of soup, salads, sandwiches and mains like chargrilled 8oz sirloin streak, oven baked salmon and supreme of chicken.
For desserts, why not treat yourself and your mother to a delicious cupcake from Café To Go, designed especially for Mother’s Day?

Powerscourt Town Centre - Christmas Festival
This Christmas season, the Powerscourt Town Centre has been transformed into a Winter Wonderland, bedecked with twinkling lights and winter garlands. Throughout December, the historic shopping destination will be playing host to a variety of festive events, with something available to suit everybody in the family.
The Christmas season kicks off on December 2 nd with the launch of the Dublin City Gift Card at Powerscourt Shopping Centre, with all welcome. Dublin is the only Capital City in Europe to have its own gift card. The stylishly designed card offers card holders ultimate flexibility and convenience, making it the perfect Christmas gift. Available in values from €10 to €150 (in increments of €5), the gift cards can be purchased at a dedicated kiosk in the Powerscourt Townhouse Centre from December 2 nd.
Until the 6 th January the Christmas Exhibition will be held at the Powerscourt Gallery, featuring an eclectic mix of artists and affordable artwork. December 3 rd sees the launch of renowned photographer Giles Norman’s new collection, inspired by the landscape of Wicklow. V isitors to the Giles Norman Gallery can avail of a 20% discount on all of the Wicklow collection until Sunday 6th December, so why not give a work of art as the perfect Christmas gift?
On the 5 th, 6 th and 12 th December the centre will be hosting story telling sessions for children from 1-3pm. On December 8th the historic Lamberts Puppet Theatre will be performing the Witch in the Wood puppet show at 2.30pm. Children’s face painting will be taking place on the 8th, 12th and 19th from 1-4pm. These events are sure to enthrall the little ones, while you get some Christmas shopping done at the array of stores at the centre!
Powerscourt Town Centre is also hosting an array of events for the music lover in your family. Every weekend in December a choir will be performing an array of festive favourites on stage. The 11th and 12th of December sees A Christmas Production with Music and Song taking place at the Powerscourt Gallery. In addition, from 12-2pm every Thursday of December, the resident Powerscourt pianist will be tinkling the ivories.
Once all the gift have been opening and the turkey disappears, the Powerscourt Town Centre will be on hand to take away those post-Christmas blues with the Lazy Days of Christmas Family Afternoons taking place from 1pm on Sunday 27 th and Monday 28 th December, featuring clowns and story-telling.

This is Knit - Yarn Tasting Event
Yarn yarn everywhere and you don’t know where to start?
Looking for a new hobby? Looking to try something different? Well The Loft is the place to be on 27th August from 6pm-8pm as it hosts the very first ‘This is Knit Yarn Tasting Event’.
The new Autumn/Winter ranges are flying into This is Knit at the moment and it can be hard to decide on where to begin with those all-important winter knitting projects…
Introducing the very first This is Knit Yarn Tasting Event!
Don’t get overwhelmed by the range of colours, textures and fibres on offer - try before you buy!
How will it work?
This is Knit is taking over “The Loft” exhibition space on the top floor of the Powerscourt Centre for one full Thursday evening - the 27th of August from 6pm to 8pm.
Customers will have the opportunity to sample over twenty different yarns - silks, merinos and mohairs, from lace weights to chunky, from far-flung places and closer to home. Bring your knitting needles and crochet hooks so you can tuck in to as many samples as possible on the evening! There will be plenty of finished garments available to try on too - many of them from the brand new Autumn/Winter pattern books.
Tea/coffee and wine will be available as refreshment throughout the evening also.
Yarn Tasting vouchers will be available to purchase in the shop from Thursday the 20th of August but we will also have them “on the door”. Each voucher will entitle you to one yarn sample and they are priced as follows:
- 5 vouchers €8.75
- 10 vouchers €15.00
- 15 vouchers €18.75
- 20 vouchers €20.00

Vouchers are redeemable for one sample of each yarn per person.
